F-100

F-100 is the first iteration of our bi-liquid propellant rocket engine. It fired succefully this spring making our team gather data and gain experience with its copper combustion chamber.

Machining

All of the combustion chamber components have been designed by our team and manufactured by professionals under the EN 9100 european norm, which certify sufficient quality for the aerospace market.

Electronics

The motor ignition sequence is automated by a custom made printed circuit board designed by our team. It can also communicate with our control station to send or receive commands.

Test infrastructure

To guarantee safe operations, we built a test infrastructure tailored to our needs. We also rely on safety experts to help us make safety a priority.

Successfully fired!

We successfully fired our engine in Mai 2022. This is a first for swiss students. We are currently doing more test to gather as much data as possible.

Project continuation

F-100 was designed so that its parts could be easily reused for Colibri’s engine, a regeneratively cooled engine. With the experience we gained from F-100, we will be able to start working on this engine, which will better meet the requirements of our hopper, especially in terms of burn duration.
